In France, the Radical Party was formed about 1875 and, although it split into Radical and Radical Socialist activities parties in 1893, it dominated the Third Republic for many years; the outstanding Radical leader being Georges Clemenceau, the outstanding Radical Socialist fidouard Herriot.
